If Porter wasn't Ledger before, he definitely has him trademarked. He has snark for days though with good reason tracking down 7 nukes being used by some kind of vampire cult having a little fun. This was probably my favorite so far since #1 Patient Zero.

I really enjoyed this one. I wish Toys had a larger role though. They seem to be setting him up for the future.

What can I say? I love Joe Ledger! I feel like I'm running, ducking, shooting, living the entire novel with him as I listen to it. When a novel can make you laugh out loud one minute, gasp in horror, and then ball like a baby, you know it's a keeper. I can't wait to experience the next in the series.

As this was a "listen" instead of a read, I can only encourage others to experience these novels as audiobooks. The narrator, Ray Porter, IS Joe Ledger. His performance is magnificent! He has become one of my favorite narrators.

Vampires and nukes make for a very cool combination. I really liked the way they handled vampires in this story. It was different and familiar at the same time.

I didn't like the interludes as much as I wanted to. The idea of seeing that history was intriguing, but it ended up feeling like excess exposition that the story could have done without.
