Well, what do we have here?

Raise your hand if you like sweet, mushy, romantic heroes in books. Raise your hand if you like your heroes to be so romantic, the heroine swoons so hard she might pass out? Raise your hand if you like heroes who are so sweet that your panties instantly melt? Shepherd Oliver is so much of all of the above, I wanted to punch him in the face AND jump his bones at same time. (Can we say some BDSM thoughts?)

Wren.... Well, Wren... It was complete role reversal in this book. She is such a hard-butt, I thought for sure Shepherd was going run away crying. I mean, WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS making sweet, romantical Shepherd work so dang hard to win her over???? (But man, it was fun to read.)

Okay, okay. Maybe I'm exaggerating a little. Just a little. I mean, we have a boy and a girl who missed their chance at ripping each others' clothes off and going at it like monkeys years previous. What do we expect to happen? Let me tell you. The boy now chases the girl. The girl bats her eyelashes and hides. I mean, eventually we get a happily ever after, so who cares how we get there! Basically, JUST READ THE DANG BOOK!

excuse me how cute was this????

mutual pining? small town and single mom?? and THE BEST i'm not kidding THE BEST HERO EVER?? this man loves pinterest and diy stuff???? AND he gives heroine 1 rose for each day he loved her at their first date (he loves her for 15+ years so that's a lot of roses)

"You’re not a consolation prize and you’re sure as hell not a goddamn rebound. You’re THE prize, Wren."

This was the 2nd book in the Summersweet Island series, and like the first one, there were lots of lol moments. The one thing I thought was odd was that we skipped over Tessa and Brody's story, and they are already together in this one. Hopefully, we get their story soon.

Shepard and Wren went to HS together. He was a superstar baseball player and got drafted right away. He starts messaging Wren on Instagram, and they are always chatting. Then, poof, he ghosts her.

A year goes by, and after a season-ending injury, he decides to retire and move back home to the island. He hopes to make amends with the one he let get away...

Wren is a spitfire, Shep is smitten, and the laughs with the side characters from book one and Owen are great. Kevin is also a great punching bag—a solid 3.75 rounded up to 4 stars for this one.

This story left a smile on my face after reading and a sore stomach from laughing so much. I absolutely fell in love. This is definitely a series I am all in for. Tara Sivec never disappoints and this story was no different. The characters and story are quirky and fun and so sweet. I enjoyed every minute of reading and I can't wait for more!

  | I loved these two! So bumbly and well-meaning and stuck as their teenage selves, but as grown adults with needs, wants, and desires, oh, and of course, baggage. Loved, loved, loved, our hero, he really is every woman’s dream, so it is understandable that Wren doesn’t trust it. As sweet as these two are together, the heat and chemistry between them is just as evident, and they easily flip and slide from one to the other <3
