This was the perfect amount of representation, Cosplay, and fan fiction! Spoiler Alert had exactly what I was looking for, when not even I knew I needed it.

April is a plus-sized fan fiction writer, who writes about her favorite book/show characters. Mostly about one in particular… Aeneas. He’s a muscular, manly, hunk of man meat, who is also a Demi-God.

Marcus plays Aeneas on the hit show, but what the fans (and April) don’t know is that he also writes FanFic under a pseudonym. If the show runners found out, he would lose not only his reputation, but his job and future.

My only real complaint about the book is that I don’t like that he lied to April for almost the entire book. He knew her for so long and didn’t tell her. There were a few tidbits that I wish had been fleshed out a bit more, but overall I enjoyed the characters a lot.

Aaaaahhh I loved this one!
This is a contemporary romance that takes a super fun there (fan gets a date with celebrity!) and turns it into a moving, safe, sensitive read. It's sexy (WHEW full steam ahead). It makes consent clear (thank you! I'm so over being creeped out at the "then he took her" stories that act as if consent isn't #1 priority in sexual engagements). It celebrates not only being comfortable in one's skin as a fat person, but addresses how prevalent harm toward fat people is and what we can do to fix that. It handles a learning disability with the respect and sensitivity it deserves. It shows how there's always work in successful relationships -- romantic and familial.
And the friendships surrounding both characters and multidimensional, great to witness, and often made me LOL.
What a winner of a book.

Absolutely do not start reading if you don’t read sex scenes. You’ll have to put it down
(I didn’t put a star rating as I can’t say I read the whole thing. But I wanted friends to know).

Not my usual genre, but I really enjoyed this. A fun, page turner, with an easy-to-root-for protagonist. It was significantly spicier than I was expecting, but maybe had the best-written spicy scenes I've encountered. Let's hear it for nerd love!

Worth the read, but I didn't love it. A+ for the body positivity, but I've never seen or read Game of Thrones, nor am I familiar with fanfiction. I also don't tend to enjoy stories where the main conflict is just that the characters won't talk about something. I read this because it precedes All the Feels. Fingers crossed that I have better luck with that one!

Maybe because I'm outside of the fanfic side of fandom I have sorta "eh" feelings about this. I do like that this is basically "what if one of the GoT actors wrote fic and fell in love" as that premise is amusing, but nothing about the characters really grabbed me. However, I gotta support a fat chicks need love too book. Not enough of those in the world for this fat chick.

For the next book, I hope we get The Peg That Was Promised.

Despite being my go-to genre and a fair majority of the books I read/listen to, most romances generally fall somewhere in the 3-star range. This one is truly excellent though. The tough spots seems realistic, the characters are loveable, and it hits a lot of good points.

It definitely feels like a self-insert fanfic at some points (not there is anything wrong with that) but honestly, it brings a little bit of ironic/self-awareness to the story. I would recommend this to anyone who has been on AO3 or Wattpad before especially if you are a fan of fluff.

This is sweet, but I probably should have stayed away from it. I wasn’t a huge fan of the AO3 story headers at the end of a lot of chapters, but the heroine having the same name as me was a real trip to be honest. I struggled with it a lot because of that I think.
