i was super intrigued the entire time, and it definitely kept me reading. however i did guess the ending pretty early, the romance was underdeveloped and basically instalove, and the dialogue felt a little juvenile at times. but despite all that, i enjoyed my time reading and i binged it in less than a day.

Okay. So I had to slug my way through 88% of this cause 3 chapters in I knew the killer. And insta love was out in full force. And the logic surrounding every choice Erin made around it telling the police anything was crappy. It was difficult to imagine a 17 year old miraculously being waaaaay smarter than every adult. And Rachel and Erin's relationship bothered me to no end. I might read the next book, by skimming it not in depth, but only because I want to confirm my thoughts on Erin's father. Otherwise this book is a pass from me.

I really enjoy reading murder mysteries, and this one was a thrill to read from start to finish. Erin Blake was a toddler when she witnessed her mother's murder, a heinous crime that remains unsolved to this day. Obsessed with solving the mystery, Erin dabbles in forensics and works with her biology teacher to run DNA tests. However when Ms Peters end up murdered, connections between the past and present reignites Erin's desire to solve her mother's murder, while at the same time trying to clear her name from being linked to Ms Peter's murder. Along with fellow suspect and secrer crush Journey, Erin sets out to solve the murders. I enjoyed reading and learning about forensics, and found the story equally thrilling and brilliant. It was quite an eye-opener into what the FBI and PD do to solve crimes, and how the different processes play a very important part. A truly enjoyable read.

Meh. I thought the writing in this was sub par and it really made it hard to enjoy the murder mystery aspect of it
