Through the beginning and middle of the book I just kept drawing similarities to the story of divergent (which I own I did not read). People divided into different factions, our main character joining the violent warrior group despite being raised for a peaceful one. Even the initiation felt reminiscent. 

Despite the similarities I definitely enjoyed this story a lot more. The characters have dimension and while I could see most plot points from a mile away the small details of how we got there were engaging.

Enjoyable. Good plot and character development. Some awkward and cliche moments. Sometimes difficult to keep up with fast paced scenes or scene changes.
