This was good... I think I enjoyed the stories between their parents more though. This was unnecessary.

Lavender and Kodiak are amazing!

I love Helena Hunting’s books, I’ve been obsessed since I first read a Lie for a Lie, then I discovered the Pucked Series, and I was hooked! So the merging of these two series with their kids getting their own series is amazing!

And it all starts with Kodiak, the first kiddo that I read about, which literally makes me want to cry (how weird I know) like some aunt they only see on occasion, and it makes my heart so happy!

Lavender and Kodiak go through so much, as both kids and into their early adult years. There’s a lot going on between them, and I struggle with it. The parents make me so mad, but I’m also a mom, so I see it from their perspective.
I have anxiety, but no where near on this scale. Lavender’s story and how she grows as a character was so fun to read, and also inspiring. I couldn’t imagine having anxiety that crippling, but my heart hurts for those who manage it and have learned to live with it. If you are reading this, You are amazing!

But Lavender and Kodiak, ahh I loved it! There’s a lot in the middle, but eventually things happen for a reason, and I loved their story! Cannot wait to see who is next in the Pucked/All In kids series (please be BJ and one of the twins ;)!!

Little lies - 2.5 stars

I’ve only read the first two books in the pucked series so when I saw this book advertised on amazon I thought I’d try it. I thought it was a good read but I’ll be honest, it didn’t really grab me. I felt the first half of the book was all about Lavender’s severe anxiety, and then all of a sudden it seemed in the last half she had magically overcome it and had a handle on it. Lavender was uncomfortable being around Kodiak as he was very nasty and verbally abusive to her. Kodiak finally reveals the reason for their distant friendship of 7 or so years. Personally I thought it was far fetched and random that soon as she found out his reasons that she could go from being scared of him with anxiety attacks to getting naked and tying him up and being so bold doing what she did. At this point in the book I wanted to DNF it as it just didn’t make sense and completely erased the version of Lavender I had read about. This book was an OK read which I enjoyed but I’m not in any rush to read any further books.

While reading this book, my reading mojo was struggling. I had moments of being very engaged and moments struggling to stay interested. It felt like wrong book at the wrong time. Maybe next round I’ll feel differently.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

I don't like the FMC, she seems very meek and relies on others too much.
