This series is full of fun characters and good dialogue. Lillian Jackson Braun was a master at these stories.

Poor Mr. Tibbit died with nary a mention of his funeral. And poor Liz Hart was offed. Ms. Braun can be brutal.

I think murder-fluff should be a book genre. That's precisely what these books tend to be. A couple hours to read, enjoyable enough.

Though possibly these are a little better when consumed in audiobook form, so I don't have to look at the interesting copy editing choices. (Or see misspellings.)

I think my reading experience wasn't the best because I only read the first two books of the series. I might give it another try when I'll be at this book.

Love this series! Kokomo and Yum Yum are sneaky, smart cats who always seem to sniff out trouble and help Qwill solve whatever malady befell the town located 400 miles north of everything.

Its a cute cozy mystery series that can be read out of order as the author shares enough to keep you caught up no matter where you start your Pickaxe adventure.

New title in paperback. Her new one in hardcover has been out for a few weeks. It's in my pile of to read books. This one is one long not very funny farce. All the ingredients and things that makes Koko and Yum Yum universe fun and comfortable are there but somehow are not in sync. The plot is dull and finally the celebration of the I don't care how many years Pickax has existed is over. Lots of recycled ideas (the Fire play for example). I would have liked to know more about the knitting lady with premonitions, Derek's lover Lisa, etc. A somewhat miss in what is still a great series.
