Like the first volume, this was a wholesome story with plenty of "slice of life" and family feels. I'm still not invested in these characters and I don't really care what happens to them.

I want to like this series more than I have.

Review of the whole series:
Cute and heartwarming coming of age story. I think this is a comic i can recommend to a lot of people. The moms point of view, having a parner whos views are not the same as yours, trying to figure out your sexuality while being young... Really important topics.

//

Koko sarjan arvostelu:
Suloinen ja sydäntä lämmittävä nuoruuden tarina.Tämä on sarjakuva, jota voin suositella monille. Äidin näkökulma, kumppani jonka näkemykset eivät ole samoja kuin sinun, nuorena oman seksuaalisuuden selvittäminen.... Todella tärkeitä aiheita.

Volume 2 is just as inspiring and touching! Highly-recommended! I loved that there were some extra panels at the end where the author also shared a bit of his coming-out story.

"If Hiroki's notion that there are things men can and can't read is informed only by the people around him saying so... I don't want him to deny his own feelings."

Another great volume of a doting mother watching over her kids. Delightful! This one includes a chapter from eldest son Hiroki and his crush Daigo's point of view, and another from the younger son Yuri's point of view.

The mother Tomoko obviously is a very loving warm person. I like seeing that while she watches over her sons' growth, she herself grows. She realizes so many things on her own, while observing and doing introspection. I love her!
New characters were introduced keeping life interesting, and sometimes oh so amusing for us readers haha

The mangaka is gay and I can feel like that shows through in the care with which the story is handled, as well as the hurtful things and microagressions closeted or not queer people and their loved ones must hear on the daily. It's a really positive heartfelt story with funny moments, but like in real life one can't escape it.

I liked learning that Yuri's hobby is reviewing! Can relate, as you well know hihi 🤭

Let's keep watching over the Aoyama family! ✊

This mom is parenting goals. I was afraid this would become repetitive, but the introduction of new characters keeps it compelling.

We get to see more about Yuri with a full chapter from his POV

i’m in a rush to work after finishing this but it was so sweet. i don’t think there’s even one thing i didn’t like about it really. it was funny and really showed the true love of a mother. the afterword was sweet too. i didn’t know the author was gay and had recently come out to his mother, but knowing that now adds a whole new perspective to the story.

i also like the fact that he’s starting to challenge his father too. i feel like that will help a lot if/when he comes out to the family. the story now is just the mother guessing at it but not wanting to take it as truth until her son tells her if he is gay or not. i also am looking at the little brother like: aro??? ARO?¿ aro! lol

all in all, definitely a 5 star read (:
