Awesome

Loved this series! Read first two books in a day. I can't put them down. There is so much action and great story telling. This author is becoming a new favorite of mine. Off to start the 3rd book!

This is a definitely a WTF moment!! The series omg but the ending, I mean really WTF!!

Never have I found a heroine so strong and well round, I love every part of Piper. A love so epic in its own amazing right. Lyre, a supporting character that keeps you laughing and your curiosity peaked. The story is absolutely wonderful! I've read it repeatedly and the emotions I get never waver. I think it will always give me goosebumps, make me laugh, and cry. Ash, there are no words to describe how much I fell in love with him for Piper. He has so much heart and depth even though you don't hear him say it, his actions speak so much.

I'm really heartbroken to see it end and I am disappointed in how it all ended. This was and is my favorite series, their love story shouldn't have ended this way!!

Another taroth should have popped out of the woodwork, or Piper and Ash met in the middle and had so much time in each world. He didn't have to be a leader he could have made a circle of trust or something. I do feel disappointed, cheated, and heartbroken. I loved it all till the ending! I really wish that Annette Marie would do an alternate ending to fix it. I mean she's a hybrid, theirs nothing really known of them. Maybe because of her underworld blood she could have draconian in her and her ryujin blood was stronger, because they both are almost the same in a lot of aspects just opposite versions of themselves, maybe there's a possibility they can still reproduce. She's a hybrid the possibilities are endless!

Okay, even though I didn't like this as much as the first book, which was a nonstop thrill ride road trip, I'm hooked. I am here for the long haul, I think, unless something super weird or bullshitty happens, of course, which is always possible, but this early birthday present of mine is already shaping up to be pretty fucking rad.

This book definitely had a really rough second act. Everything that happens in the Underworld is surprisingly dull. It takes up a huge chunk of the book and it was pretty tough to stay vigilant throughout, but once things return topside, the energy picks straight the fuck up and does not relent until you're finished with the book.

I mentioned the love triangle in the last review and how I was rooting for Lyre, but I give, I give, Ash is still pretty cool, and if he remains the main love interest (which, again, stranger things have happened; just look at Shatter Me or...ugh, Throne of Glass) I'm down for it. His arc was almost non-existent, here, though, because he's absent or unconscious most of this book. So is Lyre. He's in a few short scenes in the first act, disappears for a very long time, reappears quickly to flirt with Piper after she returns from the Underworld, and then we don't see him again until the very, very end, so I was a little disappointed by that. Hopefully he'll be given more screen time in the next books.

I'm really enjoying myself, having a lot of fun, and this was an excellent way to kick off my favorite month of the year! Onward!

There was a tiny section where it was a little slow for a while, but overall a solid sequel to Chase the Dark. Again, I'm so tempted to give a full 5 stars because overall I just enjoy being in this world so much...maybe I'll adjust my rating later. I need to sit with it.

Entertaining, doesn't linger or get boring for too long. Characters continue to be compelling enough while not being very deep. A fine book

Pretty fun, lots of underworld magic shenanigans, but the getting kidnapped thing like every day is a bit much. Overall enjoyable though, hopefully we'll get to see more women characters now since it's basically been a sausage fest and Piper.

This is a near perfect adventure. I really enjoyed reading through Piper's character growth. Everything seemed like a natural progression from who Piper started out as leaning heavily on Ash and Lyre's experience to stepping out from their shadows and relying on her own skills and contacts. The depth of the turn around in her and Ash's relationship was very gratifying and it's refreshing to have a female lead who can both be saved and save others. I liked that the books and scenarios can put two people with different kinds of power and show the value both can offer. This is the best book of the series.
