Ok so all I know about this book was that it had pirates and that was enough for me to pick it up.
It has Black Sails vibes and pacing fast and would be 3 stars if poly relationship was done better.
For 60% of book is all Ashley and Bennett enemies to lovers relationship, she and Priest and Priest and Ashley is all tell no show. I just couldn't connect with that part of relationship, overall ok.

I have yet to give the author more than 3 stars for any of her books and this was no different.
It started ok and then I felt like I was reading an old Mills & Boon. I was ready to give up at 20%, but after I read some reviews it sounded like it would get more interesting.
The author is not afraid to brutalise her main character, which was a bit much for me. Especially when Bennett didn't seem that affected by it all. I know she is a pirate captain, but she had no hesitation getting back on the horse as they say. She was more affected by the original attack.
'Oh Ashley' lmao - I felt like I was reading the pirate version of Gone with the Wind, and Priest is Captain Jack Sparrow.
Lots of smut, and some M/M action but it went with the story.

Wow. I just have absolutely no words. The plot was amazing, Bennett was amazing, Ashley and Priest were amazing, the crew of her pirate ship, literally EVERYTHING. Please before you read this check trigger warnings, because this romance was dark and hard to read at times but I am so glad I did. I was hooked immediately by the fast moving plot, and stayed for the determination of a young pirate captain who loved two men so deeply. I haven’t read a romance with a love so deep quite like this since the New Camelot series by Sierra Simone. Do me a favor and read this, because you most definitely will not be sorry.

“I was a pirate captain, a rebel queen of the sea, fighting against the conformities of society and the oppressive laws of man.”
This was such a beautifully written book. I cried a lot and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I usually don’t enjoy MMF (or anything other than monogamy) but I’m so happy this one was MMF. The love they have for each other is beautiful. I love them.

Good but not my favourite, just didn’t totally vibe with the writing for some reason.

I really really enjoyed this. It seemed like a very long story - almost like multiple stories in one - but that wasn’t exactly a bad thing!
The FMC just could not catch a break.
The FMC just could not catch a break.
It was constant traumatic event after another. But she sure did show resilience.
But she should definitely have chosen the bear iykwim
