The premise for this is... well, I see the appeal for the intended audience, but I really hope that the right couple wins out in the end. This feels a little average for a shojo romance, though I think with time it may come to shine with redeemable characters turning into friendships.

Suzume, a girl from the countryside has to move to Tokyo to live with her uncle.

I really liked Suzume, she was a really interesting character, though also a bit bland and boring. Luckily it only took a few chapters for her to become more interesting and now, well I like her.

The illustrations/art is really nicely done, I love how the characters are drawn.

I absolutely loved it when Suzume smacked some sense in that mean girl. God I hate girls like that who pretend to befriend someone, act all friendly and happy and then do something mean like giving her wrong information/directions. And all because of a boy... Urgh. Our mean girl should just trust her own abilities, I am sure she is able to chat with Mamura if she just went to him and chatted with him.
Still lovely that Suzume stayed friends with her. :)

OMG I loved the make-over, wow Suzume looks so beautiful and pretty. She should have her hair like that more often, way better than those braids she is always wearing. :)

And at the last 2 chapters we finally get some romance in. Both Sensei and Mamura seem to be highly interested in Suzume, and Suzume seems to have her eyes set on Sensei. I am really curious as to how this will work out.

Thanks Dee Dee for recommending this manga. I really enjoyed the first volume.

Tbh this might be the first time I'm disappointed in a typical love triangle in a Shoujo Manga. I loved the first 8 or so volumes but then Suzume and Shishio break up and well……it just doesn't turn out as I expected. Sure the third last chapter annoyed me, but then I got surprised by the ending even though I understand the reasoning. I liked Mamura as a character, same as Shishio-senseI and Suzume. But wow, you know in a way, there is a really realistic feel to the way this story ended (and by god I will admit I loved this story a whole lot more compared to Moe Kare <---- I really hate that Manga btw even though these two are slightly similar). But well the pairing I reallu shipped just didn't happen so yeah. I give the beginning and majority chapters 4/5 but I give the LAST volume 1/5 because I'm disappointed in the tie up. It seemed messy at times, yet only the last few pages solidified the meaning of Suzume's feelings. But still I didn't love her choice. Of course this is just my opinion and I'm in one of those moods where I wanted to read something light and typically predictable. Oh well, in a way I guess I saw it happening, but I still hoped!

Crush on a high school teacher trope - the age gap and power gap is always concerning

This was... an odd one. My feelings about this are a little mixed, but that’s fine. The art style is beautiful and I am willing to continue on with this manga series, despite my mixed feelings.
