I almost gave this 1 star but I did get some useful insights. I found it to be very out of touch and mostly applicable to white men age 50+. Lots of golf examples.

Really solid book on professional/personal development. Goes into a bunch of different areas of personality, habits, etc. Doesn't fully lay out the blueprint to put you on a path to change/improvement, but does a pretty good job of giving tips here and there on how to get started.

A pretty good book of general life advice aimed at those who've already achieved something. And that can be its weakness as you might not feel like you are in the target market. (I certainly don't). But there are some good nuggets of advice here and some pretty good ideas for taking that first step. Worth the read.

This is one of my top picks as far as leadership and self-development are concerned. Instead of focusing on all that we need to do to be better, this book focuses on everything we need to stop. Definitely worth several reads. Highly recommended because no one is perfect.

I found this very useful, even though I'm not in a traditional management position. Because I'm autistic, I had to learn a lot of social and conversational norms from scratch because they didn't intuitively make sense to me. This book goes into more details about those conventions, not only what to do but WHY, in a way that made sense to me. I also appreciated the general "you may not be noticing this" theme throughout the book, because I think uncovering our personal blind spots is useful.

I can also see how this book wouldn't be very useful to people that already have great social skills! Also wow, there are a lot of stories/analogies about golf.

There were some pretty interesting insights in this book, but I have always had some trouble with the self-help genre - the information isn’t packed as tightly as I’d like. But among the golfing analogies I did find a number of good takeaways to apply to my personal life now and my career further down the line.
