I loved the mystery but wasn’t really a fan of the love triangle. There’s a clear winner and Rav’s character annoyed me quite a bit during the book
Spoiler to the point where I was praying he was the killer

A very good murder, likeable for a bunch of reasons...but I couldn't warm up to one of the characters, so I probably won't be reading any more of these.

I can say I loved a story if I can't wait to read the next in the series. And I can't wait the next in this enjoyable and entertaining series.
I had fun, liked the quirky and fleshed out characters and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
I also learned something more about bats and surveys.
Nell is lovely character that grew on me. I can't wait to catch up with her and the cast of characters.
An entertaining and compelling story, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

An enjoyable cosy mystery, especially the second half. As an ecological consultant myself, the ecology did make me feel like it could happen to me... making me worried I'm going to murdered on a bat survey!
Loses a point because of the forced love triangle - I like Adam but James needs to just shut up imo.

I really thought this book would be good. I was rather disappointed in the storyline and the plot. It seemed to drag on and on for me. It seemed like they didn’t figure out who the murder was until the very end of the book and there wasn’t any hints or anything leading up to the reveal.

This book was so good! AMAZING. I couldn’t leave my house because I had to finish it. I had the five star dance, and I couldn’t do anything but listen to “Gyal You a Party Animal” for an hour after (no it has no relation)

The audiobook narrator I recognise! She was a great narrator

Decent cozy read. I’m getting tired of the obligatory cosy mystery love triangle though.

It came up in a search of the library as "for fans of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series" but the styles are very different. Maybe it's the advantage of writing pensioners but no one in Osman's books seems as interested in appearing cool as the characters here do.
