I just don't vibe with the whole 'mafia kids university' trope as soon as it became clear to me that was going to be a major part of the plot I gave up

Wow. Deimos. That’s all I can say.

Pros: I love a dark king. When I see things like impact play in the trigger warnings, I’m like yup I’ll read that. This one was even better than castles book! I loved his and Dahlias chemistry. Even when they hated each other it was undeniable. The plot was super unique, and I loved that everything worked out in the end. I honestly didn’t see the twist coming until right when it happened.

Cons: miscommunication trope. Everything could have been worked out super fast if they had just talked butttt I still enjoyed the book. I wish there had been a little bit more description when it came to the spice but uh well.

I swear these books get better each time. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jagger Cole is an absolute master story teller.

Deimos is a psycho mafia boss and Dahlia is our troubled heroine (but also a boss ass business woman, I loved her character). A dark SPICY, and I mean spicy, mafia enemies to lovers romance.

This wasn’t my favourite of the series, I wasn’t completely sold on Deimos’ character, the constant repetition of him calling himself a psychopath grew tired and there were also elements and themes in this book I didn’t love. That being said I did DEVOUR this book and still thoroughly enjoyed it.

In true Dark Hearts series fashion this book was full of tension, twists and turns, moments of heart break and moments i wanted to throw my kindle across the room (be prepared for a big miscommunication trope in this one, I was literally screaming at my book). An emotional rollercoaster.

I adore this series.

This wasn’t for me. It was boring and repetitive, and the characters fell flat, especially Dahlia.

The plot wasn’t as interesting as the other books in the series too.

The only reason why I enjoyed this was reading how unhinged Deimos is. Deimos was well and truly unhinged and surprisingly, I was in for the ride.

Sadly, I didn’t like or enjoy their love story. The flashbacks were okay but I don’t think it worked well with this type of story also. Hopefully others will enjoy it more than I did.
