Sky lives with her mother Karen in her own little bubble. With her best friend Six off in another country, she’s on her own. That is, until she meets a strange boy at the grocery store and her life changes forever. She comes to learn things about her past and her life before Karen she had locked away long ago.
Sky and Holder form a connection in their hearts as well as their souls. Having each other by their sides allows each of them to not only grapple with true darkness, but find the smallest flicker of light inside it. It truly goes to show that a) it’s all about the family you choose for yourself, and b) it’s the people closest to you that can hurt you the most.
