Thank you to the nerdfam for providing the ARC.

This is very much an insta love, MMC falls first, reverse age gap fluffy read.

I wish it was dual pov but it was still a good story.
Bryce can eat a bag of d*cks tho.

Thank you so much to The Nerd Fam and the author for the earc. All thoughts are my own.

Living in Minnesota (Minneapolis area) I always love when books take place here so I can really imagine where the characters are. Elise is in a dead end marriage, married to her college professor after 19 years all due to getting pregnant in college. Rhys is one of the jousters at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Elise gets talked into going as an additional chaperone for her friend and because the one that Sir William (Rhys) is jousting for.

Overall I really loved this book. The group of boys that Elise becomes friends with are a little wild, but maybe I just know tamer people. The book shows us how you can find love again when you are older after a failed marriage, and it doesn't have to be someone your own age.

I really enjoyed this book. I think that Elise was a super relatable character. She has spent her life being everything to everyone and neglecting her own feelings. She’s recently begun the divorce process and is kind of in limbo. She doesn’t seem to know where she fits as a recent divorcee and a mother whose child is grown. Her friend drags her to the Renaissance Festival to help chaperone and to get her out and about, and it is there she meets a literal knight in shining armor. Rhys is the type of man that everyone swoons over. He's got that smirk that makes girls melt and is very easy to talk to. He is instantly smitten with Elise when he spots her in the crowd at one of his jousting events and makes sure that he gets to talk to her. They strike up an unlikely friendship. They are seemingly opposites, and Elise just isn’t sure how to date anymore. He kind of takes the reins and asks her to hang out with him. He instantly puts her at ease and makes her feel like the most beautiful person in the world. She never knew that relationships were supposed to be this easy, which makes her afraid. Afraid what people might think, afraid that Rhys will tire of her. All the while, the drama with her almost ex-husband and work are stressing her out. Elise begins to wonder what life would be like if she just let go. Of the past, of her mistakes, of the life she didn’t really fit into and just be with Rhys. Her journey to self-discovery wasn’t an easy one, and Rhys never wavered. He made sure she knew how special she was and showed her how to live life without overthinking it. I was pleasantly surprised by how genuine Rhys was. He had a troubled past, which we learn about, and how that made him the man he is. Rhys is definitely book boyfriend material!

Thank you The Nerd Fam for the gifted ARC!!

This was a really fun read! Poor Elise though, omg she couldn’t catch a break! I really loved her and Rhys together. They had such amazing chemistry, and were such a believable couple. I need more Ren Faire books, because that was a total vibe!!! I loved all the Ren guys!! Their personalities were so fun and quirky.

I do have to say, I wish the FMC didn’t have a child. Their relationship was so strange. The ending felt a bit rushed to me as well, and with so much conflict happening I kinda feel like I’m missing a HEA.

But the writing was really enjoyable. The pace was great, and I loved the authors humor! The side characters were just as good as the main characters, which I love! Overall a great debut and an enjoyable read!

bleh. honestly, this is an older woman in a loveless marraige and the way she is acting is like a child. I lost patience for her very fast.

My expectation on this book is definitely high, and I was super excited to read this after getting the arc. However, instead of happiness, the book gave me stress, and I was angry almost all the time.

I want to sympathise with Elise, but she's just so unlikeable. She just irritates tbh. Almost all characters were also unlikeable, except for Sarah and Rhys, perhaps.

This was just not it.
