A beautiful book that captures parents' feelings everywhere as they look back at how quickly their child grew up caught in the aptly named title The Blur. Many different milestones will bring tears to the eyes and a smile as the memories pop up prompted by this incredible look at growing up. Another hit by the dynamic duo Minh Lê and Dan Santat and I cannot wait for the next collaboration.

When these two creators get together, you know it's a book to pre-order because it's going to be a book to love. I just wasn't ready for the tears, because, wow, they got it so right. Raising a child is a blur, meaning different things at different times.
A book to give to graduates.
A book to give to parents of the graduate.
A book to give to new parents to remind them, it really is a blur.

The book is good, but feels best suited as a gift for the brand-new parents or the ones with a graduate leaving the house. The sentimentality seems more mature than what young children might grasp.

If you’re looking for a book that looks fun, but will actually make you cry…

This is a beautiful, poignant picture book for adults. Though kids will likely appreciate some funny moments in the illustrations, the overall theme of a child growing up more quickly than parents were prepared for is more suited to an adult audience. It would make a great new baby gift.

This lovely, heartwarming picture book follows a girl from infancy through her high school graduation, comparing her childhood milestones to superhero tropes. The text is clever and engaging, and the illustrations are glorious, with lots of expressive emotions, details, and continuity throughout the story.
SpoilerI love that the stuffed lion was riding in the backseat when she left for college.

If someone is specifically looking for a superhero-oriented baby book, they should know that this mainly focuses on children's milestones and the blur of parenting, not actual superhero activities. However, this book is incredibly sweet, and the wonderful Asian representation will make it especially meaningful to some readers.

This book would make a great gift for new parents or a graduating high school senior. It could also be a gift for the parents of a high school senior, if you want them to dissolve into tears! I really enjoyed this, and will keep it in mind as a future reading recommendation and gift possibility.

My picture book aficionado pal Steph said this needs to be the new Oh The Places You’ll Go. Agreed!
