This book has been on my TBR list for a while now and I decided to download the audiobook to see what the hype was about. I thought this book might help me improve myself and for the most part it did. I do however think this book is meant to be read together with your partner. My husband and I are planning on reading this together and implementing the practices we learn while reading. I also believe a physical copy of the book would be the most beneficial to get the full experience in my opinion. Loved the insight of this book but may end up changing my rating after I co-read with my partner

3.5 stars. Definitely some good concepts to consider for the future, but this is written for a very specific audience and, in my opinion, has very little scientific background beyond the personal trial & error with her own husband and bitching with her girlfriends.

Too much resentment for me. I’m all for a good system to help but 35% it this book was resentment toward spouses.

Libby audio. Reese Witherspoon pick. A good follow up to Invisible Women. My husband needs to read this book and he never will.

This book is going to change the game for my marriage. My name is Breanne I currently hold 45 cards. I am a collaborator with a moon rising in my way or move out. I am married to a where’s the butter. I am engaging in fair play because my marriage feels equitable but inefficient.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had so many real life examples and I love the gameify of domestic tasks. My husband and I are going to use this as the foundation so that we can build upon it when we have kids. A GREAT BOOK.

Definitely gave my husband and I a lot of things to think about and helped us to rebalance our workload in our lives.

I may have enjoyed this more in print, so I could flip through to different sections. The topic gave me a lot to think about for my marriage as we weigh the pros and cons of growing our family. However, in many ways the point just boils down to communication and not losing yourself to the administering of life. The narrator also expressed the theory applies to non-heteronormative couples, but didn't even try to step outside of this perspective in their writing style, which was a bummer.
