Charlotte knows she did the right thing by taking those three kids and running. But what she calls right, others call kidnapping. And the wealthy grandfather of one of those children hires a storybook hero (literally) to track her down and take the child back, whether or not the child wants it.
Cue romance.
This was one of Karen Witemeyer's best books, and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Filled with suspense, romance, comedic moments, and witty lines, I'd read it again in a heartbeat.

An enjoyable chaste Christian romance
My only complaint is how often Stone holds her hand or hugs her while she tries to struggle free, always ending in her compliance. While consent or it's lack wasn't considered much in the 1890s, alas I am from the 2020s.
The faith journey was laudable, the path toward love was enchanting, and the adventure was thrilling.

A top contender for the best book of 2015, A Worthy Pursuit was, in my mind, just about as perfect as a book could be. I'm not the biggest fan of westerns, but Karen Witemeyer never fails in making me love her westerns. The characters, the romance, the adventures and the setting were so well written, I loved every second! Witemeyer captures the essence of Texas and finds a way to bring it vividly and realistically out on page. I cannot recommend A Worthy Pursuit highly enough!

I love Hammer Rockwell and Dead-eye Dan and the whole pulp fiction set up of two great characters. Of course the kids and Charlotte round out a great cast.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale, I listened to the auduobook on Scribd. It has some exciting moments, and it is also filled with several sweet moments that made me smile. Karen Witemeyer has a great style that combines adventure, charm, and humor. Highly recommend this fun and sweet story.
The narrator, Barbara McCulloh, is really great. I enjoyed listening to her tell this tale.
