i wanted to like this more but after the assassin was set up the way he was, the coincidences thwarting him seemed more convenient for story's sake. i did rather like the gibson character though, so i would be willing to follow him down the rabbit hole yet again.

Exciting book with computer hacking, a presidential wannabe and attempting to solve a crime (?) committed 10 years ago. Well written and quite fun to read.

Reading Challenge 2016
[x] Un libro cuyo protagonista tenga tu ocupación

YESSSSS! This book is good. Better than good, it's great.

It's been a while since I read such a good thriller. So good that I read it in less than 48 hours. And what's more, this is the first book by Matthew FitzSimmons. The first in a series, which is a very good thing!
The plot matches actual times, with the US candidates seeking their nomination to the presidency, and it makes the book even more interesting.

Suzanne Lombard, daughter of the US Vice President disappeared 10 years ago. Gibson Vaughn, her childhood friend is searching for her as new evidence has turned up.

Gibson Vaughn is a very interesting and well described character. A teenage hacker who went into the marines instead of going to jail, when he was caught. The pages of this book are full of violence, betrayal, power and money, all elements of a great thriller. The ending is quite unexpected.
I hope Gibson Vaughn returns soon in book 2 of the series!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

Quick review since I finished this over a month ago.

Not exactly a literary masterpiece, but extremely engaging action/thriller story. It has a little to do with politics, the intelligence community, etc. but is infinitely more readable than, say, a Tom Clancy procedural. The characters had sort of basic motivations and other than the main character aren't super well fleshed out. But definitely a fun and quick read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The action was paced well, and the story was intriguing enough to keep me interested. I figured out the plot twist about 2/3rds of the way through the book, but it was still a gripping read. I will definitely read more by this author. Great story, well executed! Bravo!

This could have been so much better. It had promise, and the outline of the story was interesting. The first half of it was so boring, then it was good for a little bit, and then the ending kind of sucked. It wasn't necessarily a bad book, it just really wasn't for me.
