Fun in a storytime, this book is pretty simple but fun.

The only bad point is that it gives kids the mistaken impression that all they have to do to clean their shoes is step in a bucket of water.

As Pete the Cat sees his white shoes change from red to blue to brown to wet, no worries... it's all good in his world. The understated cat is in fine form and primary students will love the catchy chorus that is an integral part of the story.

Pete the Cat has brand new white shoes. As he walks down the street, they change color after stepping in piles of strawbbeires, blueberries, and other messes. But Pete the Cat does not fret over this, and continues on his walk, singing all the way.

An absolutely amazing choice for storytimes, reading aloud to a classroom, or sharing one-on-one. The story is engaging and interactive; and the illustrations are great!
