I wanted to DNF the book a couple of times because of how sad the story was. Whenever I thought that their situation was gonna get better, it had to, there was always something to make things worse. I loved the writing, so simple yet so beautiful! The characters are so so well fleshed out, I hated the father, I was disappointed by the mom, frustrated with everyone else for not trying enough to change the situation. Definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year!
