Bookclub read for December. Words that come to mind: cosy, familiar, warm.

Thoroughly enjoyed this lovely Christmas read from Laura Barnett.
It's basically 12 interlinked short stories of characters choosing gifts for each other. Each story gives us an insight into their personalities and relationships, and how they all connect.
It's quirky and warm, and it's definitely getting me in the Christmas spirit!

This was such a lovely Christmassy read. I loved reading about each of the characters in the 12 separate stories and dipping into their lives in the lead up to Christmas.
The book follows 12 people as they each buy a gift for a family member, friend or loved one in December. Each of the stories are interconnected and I liked making links as I read the book. This was a creative and very different approach to a novel but I found it a heartwarming read and perfect at this time of year. I really wanted to visit the bookshop in the story too. It sounded amazing!

A good collection of short stories connected by giving gifts, a compelling book that talks about relationships (friends, coworker, families) and it's festive but not in a Hallmark style.
The author develops interesting and fleshed out characters, the story are interesting and the form an interesting mosaic.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
