missed opportunities

Overall I enjoy the storyline
The writing could be better since these men should be intense yet they writing almost gives of a juvenile feel
There was a huge missed opportunity for Beth to really develop as a character and take the reins in her relationship she eventually got there but it could’ve happened much sooner she’s submitted to her dad for her entire life and could’ve steered away from the submissive nature

There were moments I enjoyed and others that frustrated me (not having a conversation explaining how Jonathan came to rescue Beth other than to say he bought her and now owns her made me cray) the book had such potential to be so much more. I hope in the future they flesh it out because in doing so will offer the fluidity and extra spark it needs.

This was a decent entry in the Disciples series. I did think the romance took a little too long to get going. The MCs meet early in the book and interact, but then they aren't back together again for about 30% of the book. And in such a short book that separation dragged the story down for me. But I liked them as a couple and I particularly liked the female MC, especially compared to the previous two in the series.

This book by far tops all the others as the darkest book. When I tell you, I was not expecting a whole slavering to the plot of the book. Are two characters Beth and Jonathan meet much later in the story than the others do, which adds to the plot. The assault scenes were really hard to get through, more so than I was expecting, considering I knew I was reading a dark romance. But the writing really manages building tension. I honestly had no idea what was gonna happen next. I also loved the introduction of Charlie. I’m enjoying the ready-made family trope more than I thought.

The dubcon is seriously hot, but there is so much misogynistic bs happening, like women needing men to protect them and accepting stalking as proof of love and devotion
