3.5 rounded up. I either walk away from celeb memoirs loving or hating the celeb (ie Mariah- much respect queen; Melissa Joan hart- be humble, sit down.). I walked away from this one neural, leaning towards liking uncle Jessie a bit more. Not the most reliable narrator, clearly edited (see- operation varsity blues story, why even mention the college scandal if it was going to be touched with such kid gloves?) worth listening to as background noise imo.

Refreshingly human if not a bit myopic. John is a charming storyteller.

I chose this book following a live author zoom event.
The zoom was more engaging than the book.

I like the fact that he was open and very vulnerable with what he did throughout his life. It came from him.him and written by him and his perspective and his truth.

This was an interesting memoir. I'd have liked to see even more Full House/cast members from that show stories. But it was good. I never knew that he battled being an alcoholic. It was cool to listen to Stamos himself telling the story.

4.5- When I was little I was a huge, HUGE, fan of Full House. When it first started I watched because it was funny and Michelle was so cute. A few years later, though, I watched because I had a huge crush on John Stamos.
Mr. Stamos is extremely charismatic and he brings all of his charm into this brilliantly written memoir. He takes us through his life starting as a young cook in his father’s restaurant all the way through to now and he leaves all of his emotions on the page.
I loved hearing about his start into acting and I loved hearing about all of the different roles he’s had, from
Blackie Parrish on General Hospital to his starring roles on Broadway, and everything in between.
My favorite part was listening to him talk about his parents. Both his Mom and Dad sound like they were amazing people, and clearly they had to be to have raised someone as giving and loving as Mr. Stamos.
This is definitely my favorite memoir so far and I think it’s one everyone should read or listen to at some point. I was on the library’s hold list for months and it was definitely worth the wait!

I grew up watching GH and the Blackie story line so I was happy to listen to him read his story. I enjoyed hearing his journey. If you’re a fan, it’s a enjoyable listen.

3 ⭐️This wasn’t my favorite memoir I’ve ever read but I do like John stamos. I remember as a young girl fan girling at how to succeed in business without really trying and being obsessed with full house.
I did think this was written as “trying too hard” but overall not a bad read.
