i loved this book. initially, i thought it was going to be 3 star book for me. however, the end tied the whole thing up so well and i was heartbroken and in love with roya and bahman all at the same time. the story has such an unexpected twist that i never saw coming for a second. my only critique- there were a lot of persian words that i personally could not figure out with context clues, so a lot of definition googling had to be done.

I’m actually surprised that I liked this book because the first half of it was not that great for me. Yet, the story took a turn and the author weaved together a beautifully painful story of family, loss, country, and redemption.
