A very well written and researched biography. As a fan of Austen's work I really enjoyed this.

A really interesting biography that looks at Jane Austen through “the home”. How her Living quarters made her into the person we know her as today. It was really interesting and I learnt quite a bit about her. I was listening to this on audiobook and I did enjoy it but I don’t think it was the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to – you could hear the breathing of the woman, which irritated me sometimes.

i <3 jane austen
this book is soooo well researched and detailed and i love it for that. i learnt a lot ! i love to learn ! only rating it 3.5 though because i did just gloss over a lot of technical terminology about things i didn’t care about sometimes (sorry to the navy) and a lack of Narrative meant sometimes i could only read it in short stints. very glad i read though!
lucy worsley likes to give her take on things sometimes in a way that is really funny if you know what lucy worsley is like but i can imagine seems weird if you don’t. my favourite part when was she started beefing charlotte brontë for slagging off pride and prejudice.

Honestly such a beautiful and personal representation of Jane Austen, Lucy Worsley really brings Jane to life and explains her life and experiences in a conscientious and sympathetic way :)
