I enjoyed book one of this series, but for some reason it was very easy to stop after I read it. So I took a little break, read a few more things, and decided to continue the series, because why not.

I am very glad that I continued. When I originally picked up this series, I was expecting little plot and lots of romance. Now, there is a good chunk of romance, but there is also definitely plot. I love seeing how this world is being developed and fleshed out as the main characters venture across it. We also have some found family going, which is always nice.

Overall, I am happy I picked this up and I think I like this better than book one.

I love our little found family and the mission they’ve been going on :’) the banter and care for each other is everything. I can’t wait to see how their story progresses.

My only issue is how sometimes the transition between events isn’t as seamless; that things get lost and idk how we end up where we are. Sometimes things are so abrupt that I don’t even get to mourn what just happened

I enjoyed this book soooo much more than the first. This one had a lot more adventure.
The thing I really didn’t like was Lore. She annoyed the fuck out of me in this book. She kept treating Abraxas like yesterday’s trash. I absolutely love him he’s even more amazing in this book than the first one. After the end of Book 1 I was expecting a progression of their relationship and was really disappointed and left feeling like it went backwards at the start of the book (even if it does get better and is resolved in the final chapters).
Another thing that bothered me is pretty much the same thing I complained about in my review for Book 1: the writing style and pace of the story felt a little bit off. Also certain plot points that didn’t make sense. Without spoiling I’ll just say that there were so many times where Lore and Abraxas had to be separated where it felt unnecessary and made zero sense.
But other than that I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one to come out.
