I thought this was a really interesting concept for a debut novel. Not many people would think eldritch horror and romance (even in the monster romance community I feel like there is less eldritch monsters and more classic).
I thought the Endless dimension concept was fascinating and could be a really cool dimension to explore further in other books. The only part I struggled with was when they were back in the real world. I think there could have been more world building to explain that there is magic there as up until that point it felt more like sci-fi than sci-fi fantasy mixed together. Once I realised that I had no other issues with the book and was able to easily follow along.
I cannot wait to see what is in store for Trillian and Sian in their next book.

I love the premise for this book!
However, the writing left a lot to be desired. I would often get lost and confused, and have to reread sections to decipher what was happening. She kept dropping name references that felt like inside jokes or references to other works. But googling didn't shed light on them. Also, it ends just as things were getting good.

I am really torn on how to rate this book. I actually didn't like it much. It was a bit too cthulu/unknowable horror for me.
But the algorithms that run our lives MUST know that sapphic monster romance is a thing we want!
Personally I wanted more character for Trillin, I think? Or maybe Sian? Definitely less eyeballs.

I liked the concept for a fun sci-fi fantasy cozy romantic comedy
however i wasn't a fan of the writing style and a lot of areas i found could have been fleshed out more.
hopefully the next books in the series will be more fleshed out with the characters already being introduced .

If you liked 'The Magicians' TV show, you'll love this book. It's about a magic school with witches and an intriguing alternate dimension, introducing a wide array of challenges. At first, it was a bit tough to get into, but later on, it got much better. I enjoyed the book a lot and didn't want it to end. I'm glad it's part of a series. The author created a whole world with a magic system that was well explained. The way the 'endless' worked and how the different pieces had their own brain was fascinating. I really liked the characters Sian and Trillian, and their interactions were great. Sometimes, the book was funny, and even though things happened quickly for them, it felt real. I'm still not sure what to think about Bunny, though. Overall, it's a wonderful book, perfect for a cozy fantasy read. I totally recommend it!

Sweet, funny, and original. This is an insta-love story with very little relationship development, but I'm not too upset about it because the comedy and Cardno's imagination really carry the novella.
