My only problem with the book was the format. Given that each "chapter" is just different essays spanning the Trump years, some information is repetitive. However, given the information presented, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The severity of our current political (and environmental) situation should not be glossed over, but carefully examined. Chomsky does just that in great detail. Another problem with this format is the lack of footnotes, but Chomsky makes up for that quite well with expansive quotations from experts, making the usual challenge of tracking down sources easy.

Some interesting stuff here, but as these are apparently discrete interviews, there is A LOT of repetition in the responses provided by Chomsky. It is irritating and makes the book overly long. Poor editing. The duplicate responses should have been excised with ellipses.

I think this book suffers from a misleading title. It's less what it says on the tin, and more a collection of Chomksy's insights into the Trump administration. On top of that, the insights he has are repeated numerous times throughout the book, making it feel quite bloated and somewhat unnecessary. Without a doubt the weakest Chomsky book I've read to date.

Well written and researched but there's a lot of repetition and there are times when the speakers stray off topic and mention something without giving it detail.
Also, too much Trump.

I love Chomsky, but this collection is a little repetitive and dated. It is interesting, but some of the predictions about events that have already occurred (like the 2020 election) make it a little less so.
