This book was transformational. It was just what I needed right now. I realized that I already try to parent in this way, but the book has given me a structure to approach conversations with my kids rather than just trying to wing it. During the last week I’ve already been using Plan B, and I can already feel it healing my relationship with my oldest after years of me reverting to Plan A. I’m so excited to continue to grow as a parent!

A legitimately useful book. It's pragmatic and logical. I've implemented some of these techniques and dagummit it works.

Wonderful concept of parenting problems through collaboration with many real life examples to flesh out the model. It just could’ve been done in fewer words. It was repetitive and I found myself skimming. The nuts and bolts I give 5 stars and highly recommend; the writing itself just could’ve been more succinct.

4 stars | I didn’t realize when I checked this book out that I am not quite the target audience (I have an infant), but that being said, I found this book very insightful and practical. Also, I think the tools and approach are relevant for most people - not just parents. I imagine I may reread it down the road when my daughter is older.

I generally liked the ideas, but this was one of the most repetitive books I've read in recent memory. It could have been a pamphlet, really.

The book has a single idea to offer. It's a good idea, but not worth a whole book. Could have been condensed into a long magazine article without losing much informational content.

This book is basically collaborative problem solving applied to parenting. It’s a good book with decent examples.

The only part that really had me laughing was the part about toddler. He used the example of potty training. The conversation he used between an adult and a toddler screams that either he doesn’t have kids, or he wasn’t the one who dealt with the kids at the toddler stage. Don’t get me wrong this method would work fine with toddlers. The example he used just make a toddler who has a better vocabulary and understanding of their feelings then most toddlers I’ve met… unless the toddler is like 3 or 4 years old

The book gives a really powerful and hopeful lens for viewing parent-child relationships.

This was a great time to pick up another Dr Greene book. This is important work and I have plenty of time to practice now.
