I decided to read this after seeing the greek performance with Panos Vlahos. Although I prefer the live version I saw, this is undoubtely a timeless work. I couldn't believe how relevant it still is today. Police brutality is such an important topic and Dario Fo with the use of humor comments on it perfectly.
And as he poses in the end: "Whichever way it goes, you see, you've got to decide." You can't be neutral about topic such as these.
Quote: "Corruption is inevitable under a system of society which only survives through the exploitation of one class by another"

Quick intro for those who care aka the gossipers and those who stay for the life updates: Meant to read it on the plane over to Milan with Juan (hi amorcito!) , finished it on the plane back to Amsterdam
- this play is more prominent than ever. With the second reelection of Mitsotakis being very recent, the themes of this play are represented to the extreme. From the narrative twisted tale that exposes the police, the juridical system, the press aka the corrupt means of the government and trying of silencing the truth, I can't believe how hooked I was. The Protagonist is all of us, using common logic to the inaccuracies and being deemed mentally ill for doing so. The humour is subtle and to-your-face at the same time ("Who made the little stool for him? To help him jump"). Saw this as a play over a year and a half ago and cried my heart out.
