This is a horror manga, I forgot about that part. First time really reading a horror series but I'm enjoying it a lot. Even if some scenes make me a little squeamish. . .

Allen Walker is a parasite type of anti Akuma weapon, meaning he can morph his body into a weapon. We found out from the first book that Allen was cursed because he tried to bring his dead father back as an Akuma. Instead he gained his anti Akuma weapon arm.

Kanda is an exorcist with a special blade and like Allen they're both powerful. Kanda's a bit rude and dosen't seem to care about anything, very by the book type of guy. Well from the get go Allen and Kanda haven't gotten along. They're always fighting because of their personalities and methods.

Put that aside, everyone's in a race against time to collect the Innocence. Pieces that can be used to defeat the Earl before he destroys man kind. They must find the Innoncence to create a weapon powerful enough to defeat the Earl.

Also, the Akuma can evolve with enough dark matter. When they kill enough people they can evolve and one such evolution runs amuck in Mater. Wishing to collect the Innocence before Allen and Kanda can.

It's a race to save the Innocence from getting into the Earl's hands. Allen and Kanda have to rely on each other even if Kanda wishes to not save Allen. The Innocence also takes different forms so there's no clear cut image of what they are.

Unusual phenomenons can be the sign of an Innocence present and Mater has such signs. Will the two kill each other first before even fighting the advanced Akuma? What about the Innocence and the form it's taken?

This is an exciting new installment in the series! But this series is a dark horror one at that and several sad moments will ensue. Still I really loved this book and am ready to read on. Again, it's a horror series so there are some disturbing parts.

I love the dynamics between Allen and Kanda, those two are so fun together. The arc with Lala really hits you, and I like seeing the different perspectives Allen and Kanda have, especially knowing Kanda's backstory.

Kanda and Allen's first mission is so memorable.. I love their dynamic of two people who don't see eye to eye coming together to some sort of understanding.

The chemistry between these idiots is chef's kiss!

I really like Mater's story and showing what happens when an Akuma reaches level 2 and how dangerous it becomes!
