This book probably is not meant to be funny, but I laughed out loud several times reading it. People push, slap, and punch each other left and right, willy-nilly, and it is hysterical to me. However, this book is also incredibly dark, and readers should be warned that kids die in horrific, graphic ways. There’s also a touch of sexism in here and sexual assault occurs. It’s horror, absolutely, that’s zany with no holds barred.

This is the first Manga I have ever read. It was an interesting experience! It read a lot like what I would expect from a children’s graphic novel, but make no mistake, this was not a children’s book. I loved the thrill of the read and I’m looking forward to reading volume 2!

Honestly, this didn't really do anything for me. It was disturbing, yes, but not enough plot or character development to make me fully invested in being disturbed or caring about what was going on. When people died, I didn't really know who they were so I didn't really feel the impact that I thought I was supposed to. I'm sure that there are people who will enjoy this, but it wasn't me!
