I really loved this. I need all the sapphic historical books after reading this! I loved how fleshed out these characters felt and how they really pursued their more academic interests! I wish this would have been a little bit more of a slowburn though but still so good.

Gorgeous poetic prose

Friends to Lovers Office Romance Historical omniscient point of view
After dual tragedies cause Lucy to need a new place to stay and a means of following her vocation, Lady Moth’s inquiry for a French Astronomy translator could not have been more fortunate. Lucy applies for the position and causes a cascade of events highlighting the inequities between women and men not only in science but also marriage, the arts, and business. Interwoven through the social story is a story of two people who need to overcome their personal fears to find their complementary star to traverse the heavens with.

Loved the social aspects of this story as well as the authors fantastic turn of phrase and imagery. I would love to see the embroidery discussed. There were some great twists at the end that made me cheer.

I’m normally not a fan of regency romance novels, but the sapphic WLW theme had me hooked.

This was such a lovely romance. And also a love letter to the female scientists of history. I devoured the book and am absolutely putting it on the list of books to read again.

My first queer historical romance! I NEED MORE! (Will be diving into Olivia Waite's backlist STAT.)

That being said it was all very mid. I loved the chemistry, the insight into sapphic love of yore, and the science/career storyline. However nothing was super exciting or thrilling.

The beginning really dragged, and if I hadn't been reading it for a book group, I would have probably stopped.

A lovely way to start the year. Cute, fluffy romance with plenty of astronomy and beautiful embroidery on the side.
