This book shattered me. I have only been able to read fluffy books since completely this. Absolutely wrecked me. I’m still thinking about this story.

beautifully written, but the ending was rushed and unnecessarily traumatic.

Rip my heart out of me and then cut it up into little pieces, why don’t you? Oh my GOSH. I love/hate this whole story and book. I just finished it, minutes ago, and I don’t have the right words in my brain to even explain but this roller coaster of a book, I’m not sure I’ll ever have the right words.

The amount of tragedy in this book seems insane and unreal and unrelatable but the way it’s written seems so true. Anyway, I’m not sure my heart will ever be the same. In hurts but happy but torn apart. So good but so sad.

I cannot say enough. I loved it, I hated it, I cried(alright more like sobbed) from the first word to the last words. I am so glad I read this, but it was heartbreaking to say the least. I almost threw it a few times. Yarros. Keep doing what you’re doing.

this book had me EMOTIONAL. the first 40 pages, i was crying. the last 40 pages, i was SOBBING, like getting the pages wet from my tears.
if i'm being so for real though, aside from the heartbreaking tragedy, i found the love story itself to be…not that interesting? it was giving insta-love which isn’t one of my favorite tropes. maybe i didn’t relate to ella or beckett but they were just kinda boring and maybe a little cringey.
the familial relationships and found family moments were 5/5, but the love story was like 2/5, hence my rating.
if you want a book to make you cry, i recommend. if you want a compelling romance, i’d suggest something else.

Life is too short to keep reading this. I’m glad I read spoilers before deciding to give up as it sounds like a train wreck of an ending. I didn’t like the constant internal monologues. In the 10% that I read, Beckett told us 3 times that his heart flopped; Ella swooned over his muscles at least twice. I have a pet hate with overusing the word quirk to describe eyebrows and mouths. What was the point in Beckett hiding his identity? The characters felt like caricatures to me. Fourth Wing at least had a fast paced plot to keep me engaged. Sorry.

This was more of a grief and sadness just for the sake of it. A lot of inaccuracies in military and op teams. The mother was very unlikeable and so one-sided.

Overall, the book was good, but the surprise ending was unnecessary.
