Okay honestly I was going to give this book 3 stars. Until I was absolutely sobbing, tears soaking my bed and my pillow. And now it’s a 4. And honestly, for the state it put me in it might be a 5, but I can’t help but feel like that shouldn’t override enduring the first 3/4 of the book. It wasn’t that it was bad, everything just moved so fast, I was practically begging them to slow down. One extreme to the absolute next. And I was so annoying and really didn’t understand the point of him lying to her about the letters. Like what was that even for? The dramatics later on I suppose but it threw me off for sure. So whilst the last part I absolutely cried my eyes out and loved their relationship, it was definitely fast moving and a little bit out of sorts in my opinion. And sorry not sorry but I hated the letters (they were giving the Dear Ellen’s in It Ends With Us and I skim read them) but still can’t fault the emotion it brought out of me.

I picked up this book by mistake. I thought it was the things we leave unfinished that I saw all over Tik tok. I like a good book to put me in my feels. I knew this one would when Chaos (Beckett) got the letter from Ryan. I did NOT expect to continue to be in my feels seeing what Ella has to go through. Once she got through one thing, she had to face another one. I love how real and raw it was

Wow 5 stars. Heartbreakingly beautiful. Cries eternally in emotional damage from fictional characters. Highly recommend if you enjoy heartache, pain and misery!!!
But in all seriousness Rebecca Yarros is a wonderful author, I first discovered her from Fourth Wing as I’m sure just about all of us have now and was curious to try some of her earlier books. I kept thinking wow this would be a fantastic lifetime movie, it’s very very much romantic drama w/ tragic backstory. I’m a person who has a super super hard time visualizing things but I swear this book was just playing like a movie in my head. I won’t be forgetting about these characters anytime soon! Just be prepared for the heartbreak and emotional damage with this one! Also this is my first 1 day read in sooo long.
