If the world goes to hell, I want Em by my side! Her bow and arrow skills rivals Katness', her survival abilities are as good as Kyra's from Partials. This book has it all. Not sure how I missed this one in all my book searching, all three are out. I'm already working on book two.

I've just finished this trilogy, it's by far one if the best things I've read since the hunger games. fast paced books that keep you wanting to read more and more.

the first book was good but I enjoyed the second and third the best.
born was free on kindle so is definitely worth the read

Emma is independent, not because she is stubborn or self centered, but because her life depends on it. At the young and tender age of 9, the infection overruns her city and during their escape her father dies, leaving her to fend for herself.

I will say she has done a pretty good job, as 10 years later she is still alive and pretty lucky to have Leo, a beautiful Timber Wolf as her sidekick. Together they survive in their own little bubble.

When Anna, oh small fearless Anna, shows up banging on her door Emma stuggles to do the right thing. Her decision made...then enters Jake, a cute comic relief. I loved his character!! To me he was the sun in the dark world Tara created. I could imagine his bright smile each and every time. :D

Her bubble offically popped Em finds herself doing things and being in places she dreamed she'd never have to face. It doesn't help she has two (in my opinion) great guys she's torn between.

You get a dose of Emma's reality and as a warning if you find Breeding Farms offensive then tread lightly. I personally enjoy dystopian type books and it was soooo easy to fall into the story, just as easy as it was to fall in love with her characters! (Anna was my favorite)

She leaves a cliff hanger the size of Mt. Rushmore and I am impatiently waiting for the next book.

It was good, but... The story time skipped in the middle and glossed over a critical point. It was odd, awkward, and frustrating.

It has been 10 years since the bombs destroyed the world. Since the infection has spread among those who were left. Emma has been on her own all these years along with her companion, a wolf named Leo. Until one night there is a knock on her door. Anna and her brother Jake have been following Emma and now need her help. She takes them in and suddenly her world is turned up side down. She slowly starts to open up to Jake and Anna and they become the family she never knew she wanted.
I loved all the people that came into Emma's life. She forms a special bond with Anna, who is as loyal and brave as she is. Jake... I really don't know how Jake has survived this long. He's loud and clumsy and distracted. But he's also sweet and charming. Emma falls for him before she can even stop herself. And of course there's the other love interest, Will. Will is a hard, no-nonsense kind of guy, he and Emma have a lot in common. And I can't forget Leo. Her bond with the wolf is so unique and extraordinary. Next to Emma, he is my favorite character,
At times I wondered about Emma's behavior, why she lashes out and reacts the way she does. It is explained later! And it totally blew my mind. This realization leads to an even bigger conspiracy.
This book is so action packed! I was on the edge of my seat from the very first chapter. Emma is constantly in a fight for her life. And now that fight extends to her newly formed family.
This ended on a cliffhanger and I immediately purchased the next book, Born to Fight, and began reading!

How in the h-e-double hockey sticks have I not read BORN before?? I hadn't even heard of it until I saw a post on Facebook for book two. How had I even existed before reading BORN?? Blown.Away. I was so caught up in Emma's survival...oh holy cow! She is brave and naive at the same time. Because of wolf on the cover I was expecting werewolves, which of all the paranormal I like to read, they are my least favorite. WRONG! So wrong. I want a Leo of my own!! As soon as I was finished with BORN, I started on book two, BORN TO FIGHT. I've only read one other book by this author, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD,and I have to admit, while I liked the story, the editing was not to hot. BORN was nothing like that. With only a couple of minor errors, the quality was sooo much better. You have to read this book!! Well done Tara Brown, well done.

I wanted to like this book a lot more then what I did. Set in the future, where the UN has taken over and caused a worldwide epidemic, the story was a bit far-fetched and cold. the characters were intriguing, but they seemed to fall into loyalties really quickly.
I did like Emma, the protagonist. She was strong and capable, without making constant annoying decisions. I really hate love triangles, but this one was done with less drama.
For some reason I just could never get real into the story. I think it was too long, and there was too much constant internal dialogue that made me bored.
I would recommend it to die hard dystopian/sci-fi fans.
