Es bastante difícil hablar de esta obra sin hacer spoiler pero nos encontramos ante una historia muy dura, durísima, en la que a través de cartas, la protagonista, Celie, nos contará su vida y la de quienes la rodean. Como puntos positivos destacaría la evolución de varios de sus personajes y, sobre todo, cómo la autora ha conseguido abarcar tantos temas (la mayoría tabúes, incluso a día de hoy) y de una forma tan efectiva en poco más de 250 páginas. Para mí no es una novela de 10 porque había partes que se me han hecho algo más densas pero también creo que es un libro imprescindible que se debe de leer por lo menos una vez y en inglés porque el lenguaje utilizado es parte también de la historia.

The book is wonderful! I found it a little tiring to read Celie’s perspective since it is written with bad grammar and spelling. From a literary point of view, it is pretty deep, though, because you can see her writing improve as she grows and evolves as a character!
