This is the second book of the duology and it’s even better then the first. We got to delve deeper into the characters. Death was such a mysterious character and I really wanted to know more about him after the first book, but he didn’t really get much air time, never the less this book was packed full of magic, deceit, lies and plenty of spice. I love how kitarni grew both as a person and a warrior. Her strength and resolve for her people and the want to protect them. She was relentless in her pursuit to save the clans and the world and quickly realized she needed to work with those around her and share the load. Dante was my favourite in this book and I just loved his inner monologue. He and kitarni together are a force to be reckoned with and I could feel the love he had for her pouring off the page, The world Chloe built was rich and I thoroughly enjoyed both of these books.

3.5 stars, first book was definitely better. second book’s pacing felt off, and pretty much nothing of importance happened between 25% in and 70% in. she also forgave him waaay to fast given the serenity of his betrayal, but i also kind of understand given the fact that this was a duology and she needed to get to the point faster than a more drawn out series. glad there was a happy ending tho

This was a fun little fantasy duology but not my favorite. The sec scenes were honestly not it. Also I'm not entirely sure why Sylvie wanted more power but I guess there needed to be a bad guy. It's fine.

I like spice as much as the next gal but this felt like a lot compared to book one. Felt like a totally different author wrote it. Found myself skipping whole pages. The dialogue was so corny, a character really said “oh fuck a duck” in the middle of a serious monologue…

This is a fantastic sequel to The Cursed And The Broken and wraps up this duet amazingly. The world building and magic was well thought out and easy to follow. I loved the arrange marriage, strangers to lovers then second chance romance that this duet gave us. The character development of the main female character from book 1 into book 2 was great, I loved reading about her growth, and the redemption arc with the MMC. The spice would top notch.
