i was feening for Keisha and Karen to make macaroni noises the moment she started admiring her, i’m very pleased.

but fr tho this was very fun and addicting, but still not super stellar in the end, hence my rating.

don't get me wrong, it was a totally fun ride with all of the messiness and chaos, in fact i feel like this is the fastest 300+ page novel i’ve read in years and that’s just because it flowed…like i’d blink and i had already read 40 pages and it was 2:00am. drama + thrillers are definitely my thing clearly, because i did not wanna put this down.

i believe the jumps between past and present were good, few and far between and only there when necessary, and ofc picked up in frequency as we got closer to present day and knowing the whole story. i also thought the multiple perspectives were handled well, you were learning the entire scope of each character, their innermost thoughts and beliefs from their POV, and how their viewed externally from other POVs.

i’m contempt with the ending, i feel like it made sense how it played out, but it just didn’t gag me idk…

but overall VERY GOOD read, you will laugh, cringe, and wanna curse out damn near everyone in this book at some point and still keep reading to see what happens next. job well done!

A mediocre murder mystery made better by excellent narration.

I saw this book described as Desperate Housewives meets Big Little Lies and was immediately intrigued. And, indeed, I really enjoyed the drama, the pettiness, and the manipulation. However, I think presenting this as a thriller is not the way to go. If you’re looking for a standard thriller, I would look elsewhere. If, however, you’re looking for a book about rich women and their social lives like I was, then give this book a try!

The plot was intriguing enough but I felt there was *a lot* of buildup for a very rushed climax that happened mostly off page.

I feel like the book could have been shorter, there was a good amount that didn’t feel like it would have made a difference in the end if it was taken out. In a way the ending wasn’t very satisfying and it made the characters who should have been likable unlikable.

I liked this book quite a bit. Usually with multi pov books I find myself never in the pov of the person I actually want to hear from, but didn't experience that in this book at all. Looking back I should have figured out the ending sooner, and I was still somewhat surprised. There were some things at the end that felt unnecessary and others that could have had more depth. Not my favorite ending but the buildup was solid and the author was able to get me to root for some characters I initially hated (in that "love to hate" kind of way.
except Oliva, I hate hated her all the way through
). Overall pretty fun book, as much as you can call a book about murder and terrible people fun.

This follows the 'frenemy' group of women in Buckhead, with the premise that one of them is going to wind up dead at the end of this story. The plot was dramatic and juicy.

Cons:
* The majority of these characters are off the scale unlikable
* A lot of the plot twists were predictable
* It dragged on, and could have been a bit quicker paced

I would skip this and go read "Big Little Lies" instead because that had way more drama and intrigue, and the characters were actually fleshed beyond just being rich and deluded.

Pro:
* Alternating POVs between chapters
* The audio book did a great job differentiating between the different characters
