You’ll be laughing in public and looking like a weirdo but that’s OK.

The banter, the relationships, and the sex in this novel were completely real. I loved it. It was hilarious and heartwarming and I completely understand how Georgia felt. LOL fun.

Can you actually fall in love with a book? Because I totally did. This book was just what I needed. It was fresh, hilarious and the banter between Georgia and Joe was everything. It also gave us just hope. It showed us to believe even if you totally feel you can’t because something or someone is going to prove you wrong, possible even yourself. I love that characters were older, I love that they were living their dreams (struggles and insecurities and happiness and all) and I love that we all could relate to it in one way or another.

This was my first book of Trish’s. I know for a fact it won’t be my last. The was just such an honesty that just wakes up everything inside you.

”To be clear, I'm not asking you for anything, Joe. But when you force your way into my story line, I can't help but try to figure out where you belong in my whole plot."

This story is not one that I am usually drawn to. I was impressed with how much I ended up loving this story and the simplicity of this plot and the characters.

I'm Happy and Other Lies I Tell Myself was just a REAL story. Real people, real emotions, and every day REAL things. Nothing was over-exaggerated, nothing was dramatic and drawn out. It was just real. And I cannot express how much I truly appreciated that. Normal people who fell in love and fought the fight that we have all fought at one point in our lives. And to me it just wasn't like anything out there and I was just really satisfied and happy about all of that. Phew.

The banter in this book was golden not only between the two main characters but ALL of the characters. I love when an author can create such fun secondary characters. In my opinion they help make a great story even GREATER!

I'm Happy and Other Lies I Tell Myself has something that we can all relate to. It was real and reflective. And don't we all just love when we can take away something from a book that we finish and implement it into our real lives? I know that I do. Trish's writing style and sense of humor really shined in this one. When I finished the book I was 123% ready to devour the rest of her books. I'll see yall on the other side!

4.5 bookgasms!!!

The main theme that kept popping into my head while reading this is REAL... although this is obviously a work of fiction, the characters could be related to on a genuine level. The characters could be your best friend, sister, brother, husband, wife, etc.. You can see yourself in them, their humor and their banter.

Although I’m besties with the author and I literally saw myself in the book ;) I really admired the way Trish captured the characters and made them explore their hard truths, their insecurities, and saw them through to the other side but not in a way that you can’t believe, in a way that makes it relatable and yes, REAL.

There’s two love stories in this book, one with her best friend and one with her Joe. You see the character grow from hiding behind her wall/best friend to what she becomes in the end, without losing her true essence in the process.

This is probably the longest fucking review I’ve written in months and leave it to my favorite asshole author to pull this out of me while I’m typing with one eye, trying not to pass out from exhaustion.... so i will end this shitastic review by saying I love this author and I loved this book! If you want some realness mixed with your fiction, READ this book!!
