I received this book as an ARC via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a personal, honest review.

What can I say, other than Kyra Fox has done it again!

It’s not quite an enemies-to-lovers, because neither character has met each other previously, but they definitely don’t start off their relationship on the winning foot. Prior to their meeting, they both highly respected each other's research and had read every scientific paper the other had written.

But when Doctor Mia Bissonnette’s big dream of heading the new scientific research hub at Oxford University – a position she spent a decade working towards and fully expected to get the role after all the campaigning she had done to get the new research hub in the first place – is given to Doctor Jenkins from M.I.T., she is livid. The only reason he was given the position was because of his last name, and therefore would be able to bring more money into the University. Determined to get the position back from him, she decides to make his life as difficult as possible so he would quit.

Wyatt Jenkins only took the position because it was going to give him the chance to work alongside Mia – a scientist he followed and admired. And to try and get away from being known as his father’s son, something he’s always hated being known as instead of the scientist he actually was himself. So, he hopped on a plane and crossed the ocean to begin a new journey, only to come head-to-head with Doctor Bissonnette and her dislike of him. Finding out from another researcher why she dislikes him so, pisses him off. He was really looking forward to, and hoping to work with her as an equal, and not her boss.

The verbal sparring that occurs between the two is very well-written and the chemistry between them is. Off. The. Charts. Without giving too much more away, the tension between them turns explosive when they get behind closed doors, and my, my, my, Wyatt in the bedroom is just, WOWZER! Hot, hot, hot, with a generous side of spanking, and let me just say that the insults in French between the two takes it to a whole other level again. Ooh-la-la!

This is the first in Kyra’s ‘Terms of Seduction’ series and it’s absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of angst, a bit of heartbreak, a bucket-ton of smexy smexy, and a happy ever after.

I award this book five super-hot stars!

Mia, the female lead, has been working towards a new scientific hub for her university, expecting that she would be appointed lead because it’s her specialty and she’s known for her work in the area. She’s furious and hurt when Wyatt, the male lead, is appointed, partially because of how well his family name is known in the academic world. She’s determined to force him out however she needs to. Wyatt is attempting to make a space for himself separate from his father’s reputation.

The attraction is mutual as is the tension and they agree to a physical needs only relationship outside of work. Wyatt feels and wants more early but now he needs to convince Mia he’s worth the risk when she’s been hurt but every other person in her life…

This story is dual POV, well written, and a contemporary erotic, enemies-to-lovers romance. I enjoyed the banter between the lead characters. I empathised with Mia’s risk aversion. I enjoyed their intimate encounters and the way they facilitated the relationship development. I enjoyed the contrast between how close Wyatt’s family was compared to Mia’s.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Lovely little bit of steam. This is a great forced to work together enemies to lovers where the guy falls first. It had some really good teases and I enjoyed the setting. Mia was definitely a strong MC for us to follow - brilliant and confident. Wyatt was the perfect compliment to her personality, smart and the dreamy MMC we all want in our spicy books. I loved their journey of finding out how they felt about one another.

I think my hesitation with fully loving this was the head hopping that happened that took me out of the story a few times. There were also several storylines that never really wrapped up - what happened at the lab, what the deal was with Mia's mother, dealing with Herbert - and a few casual mentions that I don't remember ever getting resolution for (I'm avoiding listing them here to prevent spoilers). I get it. This is primarily erotica and I don't expect something grand, but I did want a bit more resolution for our characters.

Overall, good steam and a quick read.
