I appreciate the humour in discussing a rather serious topic such as menopause, however this book didn't 'wow' me. Whilst it was rather informative, i felt a bit depressed about what's coming. I guess it is worth rereading in a few years.

Fantastic.

Funny, relatable, practical.

Just need to get the other half to read it now!

I think this is the best book I've ever read about menopause. It's realistic, sometimes even crude, and fun to read.
It made me laugh and reflect on my own experience and it was great to read and say "It's really like this".
It's an excellent read and I think that all women who are approaching or living menopause should read it.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

This book is an absolute must-read for any person who will go through menstruation. Whilst being informative - and rather alarming! - it's witty and very easy to read.

This was fantastic and one of those books that came along at the right time for me. I’ve been eyeing this one up for ages after reading some fantastic reviews, and I’m so glad that I’ve finally read it as it really lived up to my expectations. It was just like having a chat with an older sister or close friend. Jenny made me laugh out loud so many times that my glasses were steaming up and I had tears rolling down my face. It’s so down to earth and incredibly helpful that I’ll definitely be referring to it again when I’m need of a cheering up! Definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a non medical book about the menopause.

Most recently Jenny Eclair is most well known for being one of the "Grumpy Old Women" tv and stage show and the podcast also called "Older and Wider". This book is an A to Z of the menopause that doesn't shy away from
the bits of the menopause considered too personal to share with others. Jenny covers pretty much everything you might need to know about the physical and psychological effects of menopause, and how you might consider dealing with them yourself. With her usual wit, the book contains personal anecdotes, stories about friends and family but also really useful information. There's definitely lots of laugh out load moments and the books is really readable.

Hopefully I have a few more years to go before I reach menopause myself, but I found this a great read and will definitley reccomend it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus books for the ARC in return for an unbiased review.

Love Jenny Eclair and went to see her recently. But didn’t get on with this. I’ll say no more except I didn’t finish.

A lot of fat shaming. The book is missing a trigger for eating disorder description. The book implies that hormone replacement therapy and homeopathy/remedies as equivalent. They are not: one is science based and the others are not.
