3.5 ⭐️ definitely better then the first I think. Despite being relatively predictable there were a couple of plot twists I did not expect e.g. the reason for Oberons mortal brides... overall a nice quick fantasy read with a hint of spice, enemies to lovers and a mortal who isn't so mortal it seems

Loved the story progression

I really enjoyed this book.
Tessa and Kalen are perfect for each other nd I think they will bridge the gap that Oberon started with the separation of human and fae. Their inner circle of friends will also help as I felt more couples will form in book 3.
The god subplot sure took a turn in this novel making it more important then before to find out the truth of the past to fix the future.

The first book was good enough to push me to the second, but this book is losing steam the more I read it. It feels like a lot of stuff is laid out but not a lot of it matters. I don’t feel compelled to learn what the tattoo means and how the gods might come back. It just didn’t quite hook me after a certain point

It’s fine. Not great, not awful. I listened to this one on audible. I had major problems with the FMC in last book. She is marginally better in this one. Although, the big problem at end of this book is that at the one time she needed to act quickly, she didn’t. And then there was that the same scenario from the last book - getting away from Oberon forcing her to marry him - is still the plot of this book. What keeps me reading is the background plot of the gods returning and what will happen with Callan and Tessa given one aspect of end of book. Again, it’s not awful. Story enough to keep me listening while I’m cleaning or running errands, etc. But I don’t think it would hold my interest if I were reading it in print form.

I really did love this book

4.75/5 ⭐️

This was a great sequel to book one. The character development and the secrets and plot twists had me LE GASPING

I honestly just loved the mist king more and more. He is just, very much yes.

The reason I really loved this book was because I got to a point I didn't want to read because I was so afraid to see what happens next. You may see that as bad but for me, it means I am so invested in the story that I cannot bear to see what happens next. I get like this a lot when I get to the last like 20% of a book and while it is frustrating, it just means im INVESTED.

Go read this series.

Brilliant

This series is quickly becoming a favorite. I love the main characters and all the side characters. The flash backs throughout book 2 gave so much world building and character backstory and insight.
