I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw these two authors were collaborating but I had to give it a chance. Cora Rose’s writing is too OTT for me most of the time and her characters are so extra that they start to annoy me. When it comes to Nicole Dykes writing, I always feel like something is missing despite liking the characters. I feel like her books need more flair because I tend to lose interest as time goes on. Having Cora’s crazy mixed in with Nicole’s heartfelt characters made this book work for me. Yes, it was mostly a smut fest but because the authors state in the beginning that this started as smut for their paetron accounts, I knew going in to expect a lot of sex. I had a good time reading this book until the last 20% and that’s why this isn’t a 4 star read.

This book reminded me of a tamed down version of Whit at times because Reed had secrets and wouldn’t let people in. We don’t even get his POV until like chapter 7 or something and even then he’s a bit of a mystery. While Carter wasn’t the big golden retriever Caleb was, he was still a caring man who wanted to help Reed anyway he could and I adored his moms. At the start these two are just having mechanical sex as cam boys but once they kiss a bit later on, I could see there was more to them than just the physical. I think Reed’s secret really helped them become closer but I can’t elaborate on that because spoilers.

Without spoiling anything I’ll try to explain why this book went sideways for me. Reed is struggling and needed a solution going forward but I wasn’t fond of the way it went. It would have helped to know how much cam boys make because Carter made it seem like he could afford anything and if that was the case, I didn’t understand the reason things went the way they did. I felt the ending was super rushed because of it and I hated the epilogue. The epilogue takes place a month later and while Carter and Reed are a part of it, it’s not about them. The epilogue basically sets up this series and I just wanted more of Reed and Carter and their future and not everyone else.

All that said though, I liked the side characters enough to want to read more books in this series. And I will look forward to seeing more of Carter & Reed in the future.

The book is a super quick and easy read. The story is fun but could really be built upon. There is plenty of room to expand but it was still very sweet. Carter and Reed just fall in love so easily. Even though Reed's situation is super though everything just falls into place so easily. There is no real conflict in this book at all. That being said I still plan on reading the rest of the series.

I loved this book so much I could not put it down! Reed and Carter sucked me into their story and while there are a ton of spicy scenes there were a lot of emotional scenes as well especially when it came to Reed's secret. I also fell in love with the secondary characters in this book and cannot wait for their happily ever after. Definitely recommended read.

I enjoyed how elusive Reed was and I needed to know his secrets, which kept me hooked. Carter was confusing to me. He seemed stand offish and a little rude at first, then he became the kindest person alive, which seemed unrealistic to me. I liked the group of friends and their dynamics together and am eager to follow their stories. 3.5/5 spice levels.

Carter Langley is a well known camboy, living his best life in San Diego, California. His solo sessions are incredibly hot and so are his videos with other men, he’s the best of the best but he’s just so… bored of it all.

While checking his messages, he comes across a DM from a man asking if they could collab together. An unknown man with a scrap of followers? Carter knows he should delete the message and move on, but he sees his photo.

“His eyes in his profile picture—soulful, lost puppy dog eyes—spoke to me.”

Enter Reed Eillis, a shy man with a ton of secrets. Reed watches a video about camboys one night and once he sees how much money they make, he decides to try it out. Because he needs money, and he needs money fast.

“And then I saw you.” Carter blinks, once, twice. “Me?” “Yeah. You. And I thought, if I had to do this, I could do it with you.”

Together, these two are scorching hot and the steam is what you’d expect from Cora and Nicole. It’s amazing and SO good. But flaming hot heat aside, there are tender moments: “I don’t want him to regret showing me this. I never want him to regret me.”

Then there’s moments where I was busting up, especially when we meet the other camboys and Carters moms: “Yeah. He used that talking stick on me a few times.” Tasmin’s eyebrows shoot up. “That little shit. I’ve been looking for that!”

Dude. That talking stick… it’s got it’s work cut out for it in this book!!!

But you mostly see Carter slowly break down Reeds walls, you see them both start to fall and it’s the most adorable thing ever. Their jealousy when collabs with others are even HINTED at, how they both behave around Carter’s friends, and when they’re alone wondering what the other is doing? Ugh. You just want to slap them and hug them both at the same time.

I cant say too much about the main side cast as it may give somethings away, but the soap making scene with Carters moms? My heart was GONE, because Reed is trying SO hard. He’s done everything on his own, and it’s been a struggle, and my god you just want to hug this man.

“No one has ever helped me like this. Cared this much.” My hands move up and down his back, stroking and soothing. “Ah, babe. Don’t be sad. Let us love you.” He lets out a shudder, his entire body trembling. “It’s so hard….” “I know. I know.”

It’s safe to say that Nicole and Cora just own me at this point. These two wrote the cutest love story and I cannot wait to see what they do with the next SEVERAL BOOKS(?!?!?!?). Also, can we just talk about Carter being the absolute CONSENT KING THAT HE IS!?!?

“I didn’t mean to make you cry,” he says, and I just shake my head.
“They’re good tears. I’m so fucking happy.” He runs his hand across my cheek, smearing the wetness into my skin. “Are you?” he whispers, and I nod.
“Yeah, because I love you too, Carter. I’m obsessed with you.”
