Dang Mia! That was a gutsy move! A really gutsy move! I'm impressed! Also, J.P. I don't know what to feel about him. He seems nice and a good guy for Mia but...Michael. So yeah, on to 'Forever Princess'.

It was a fine book. I’m glad that
Mia didn’t make up with Lily—I was afraid that was going to happen. The way Mia still cared about Lily and genuinely thought that she herself was in the wrong? JP had so many good points, I wish Mia had taken any of his words to heart. I also wish we had seen more of Mia’s sessions with Dr. Knutz. I hope he sticks around in the next book!

Tina was a great friend throughout this book. Misguided at times, yes, but she’s not perfect 😊

I was pissed at Lily. Not sure how I feel about JP. He has good points, and was basically the only character calling Lily out on her behavior towards Mia. However…he also had ulterior motives.

…actually, no. Yes, that’s correct, but
he didn’t really act on them. He respected Mia every time she turned him down (whether laughing at him or verbally turning him down after he confessed he loved her), he was a good friend who kept to his boundaries…he was actually really great. I’m kind of rooting for them.

Finally, Mia went through some growth. It was about time. However, I do think she should’ve apologized to Lily. Even though Lily also hasn’t been the nicest.

3.5 is the average rating. these books are witty (LOL worthy) and fun to read but not particularly well crafted in terms of artistry…. ??? idk.

I really wish I had read this when it came out. I was still shaken and sad about the developments in the prior installment, so I didn't read Princess Mia until now, but I think I could have benefited from reading about a character that I so strongly identified with going to (and, more importantly, committing to) therapy. Though the timeline in the Princess Diaries universe starts getting really noticeably off in Princess Mia, the book felt a lot more contemporary than I was expecting it to be.

Surprisingly subdued compared to the previous one. I feel like Meg Cabot actually took Mia's pain seriously and didn't make it a complete joke. Still Mia's delusions and neuroses are a bit much.

This one was worth it tbh. The twilight references, cowboy therapy, and more all did it for me imo!
