The format of student-philosopher was enjoyable and my outlook on the world has changed for the better

I didn't jive with the conversation format and this isn't an approach that matches my understanding of interpersonal neurobiology, but I could see how it might be helpful for some people.

This book isn’t perfect, and I often found myself resistant to many of its ideas - but the format welcomes resistance, in its student-teacher dialogue format, and every idea is worth giving some thought, even if you end up disagreeing with it.
There were several life changing points in this book for me, and several ideas that I ended up rejecting. It’s worth the read if you’re looking for a shift in perspective.
I read it while I was in a very difficult, dark place, and it didn’t heal me, but it helped me understand some of my problems in a new way and made the world feel a little bit less scary.

I borrowed this from the library and ran out of time to finish it. But honestly, I wouldn’t have finished it regardless. The premise denies the existence on trauma and systemic oppression.
