I don't know, I thought this book was funny. Yes, Alex is terrible but this book is funny. Or I'm just crazy. Interesting language play as well.

a letdown. i know this is a beloved classic but there was almost no plot. and i get the themes the author was going for! but i dunno, i can’t say i agree with them. rapists are subhuman. i do not care about their freedom of choice at all. you can really tell this book was written by a man in how it portrays all this; the handling of themes reeks of male chauvinism. as a fem person i care more about the safety of woman and girls than i ever will a rapist’s free will. a swing and a miss of a novel - which is a shame, because i enjoyed the prose (hence the 3 stars)

The language used by characters in this book is very different, took me a while to figure out what they were saying. Interesting plot around that.

WARNING: Lots of violence. Be aware of that if you're sensitive to that content.
My favorite book! A very interesting take on a utopia/dystopia. Burgess invents a slang for the main characters which I really enjoyed. Said a few of the slang words in real life while I was reading it and got some strange looks.
