This was a truly solid book and I enjoyed it immensely.
Towards the end it became clear that this was heading towards a 5 star rating. It's obviously a thriller but also really beautiful in the way that Beatrice writes letters to her sister, Tess.
Loved it!

Edit: it was really good but I've been struggling with my 5 stars so I think I'm going to change it to a 4, with it being a 4.5 in my opinion.

Over written. I read this because her more recent book Three Hours was so good. This one just didn’t have the authenticity of Three Hours. I found the story implausible and the tone just wrong somehow

I had a hard time in the early reading of this book. By the middle of it, I found myself drawn into the story and I very much needed to know who the killer was. I was pretty sure from the beginning that Tess did not kill herself.

I don't much like novels where the protagonist is the only one who knows the terrible truth and isn't taken seriously. It always annoys me that everyone else in the novel is so dimwitted that they don't see what is obvious to the poor misunderstood hero.

In "Sister", Bee tries to convince the police that her sister was murdered, but her tale is so repetitive and dull that neither the police or I care about it. The twists at the end weren't that hard to predict, and the whole thing just left me cold.

A very suspenseful book with the best ending I've read so far, even though it left me disturbed for an hour after finishing it.

An intelligent page turning thriller. The baddie was the only character that didn't quite work for me. The twist at the end was terrific.
